Chickens and Gardening

Chickens are great for breaking up your garden area. They rake and throw dirt, eat bugs and aerate your soil. I can come in later with Calvin, my small cultivator and make short order of what's left.

I made a make-shift run between the big girls and banty's pens so both could access my sunflower area.

Here's a short video of them in action.

  1. My hens dug up a place by the rock foundation. I am going to plant sunflowers there and put a barrier so they leave the baby sunflowers alone.
